Title

Aug. 2, 1911 A

Subject

N.Y., N.H., & H. R.R. Depot, Plainfield, Conn.

Description

Notes: If you look carefully here you will see an early example of the thirst for Photoshop. The image has been (badly) hacked from the original horizon. That weird looking structure to the left of the large building is a windmill. Because the foreground hasn’t been colorized it’s a startlingly real (if dreary) picture of the train stop just over the Connecticut state line. See this link for an overview of the local rail system early in the 20th Century: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York,_New_Haven_and_Hartford_Railroad
