Title

July 12, 1910 A

Subject

Cony High School, Augusta, Maine

Description

Notes: The date 1880 appears above the front door of the school. Note the magnificent wineglass elms, a species now virtually wiped out by disease. This is the first (and only) card from Nellie Dyer. The card is addressed to her sister, Mrs. A. W. Roberts. There are four additional cards written by Abby Roberts addressed to Jennie herself. The whole sequence of cards from this family spans four years: July 12, 1910 May 29, 1911 November 8, 1911 July 15, 1912 November 14, 1913 “Mother” is Rebecca Dutton, by then 84. “C” is Abby’s brother–in-law, Charles Dyer, (Nellie’s husband,) who also lived in the same house at 14 Western Ave. in Augusta. This family's relationship to Jennie (Cotton) Dunham is a mystery.
