At the turn of the 20th century William and Clara Morris lived in Springfield, Massachusetts. This photograph of their son, Chester, was taken in Springfield at that time. Mr. Morris was an expert mariner, who traveled throughout the world. Excerpts from some of his letters describing his voyages appeared in the Nantucket Inquirer & Mirror. He died in 1936, in Australia, at the age of 45. He was survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and two children, Elizabeth and Marie.
